Assistant Manager, Client Services (Corporate) We've an exciting opportunity for a talented Assistant Manager to join our ambitious, busy and growing Governance Services team in Jersey.
You'll be responsible for providing high quality administration for a portfolio of corporate and fiduciary clients with particular emphasis on the client service aspects of the business, delivering excellent client services levels at all times. You'll assist in developing a team of motivated and highly proficient administrators, providing technical support and training.

About the role
• Administer a portfolio of corporate clients and ensure that client relationships and transactions are managed effectively and to a high standard
• Act as a role model to all Governance Services employees and assist in developing a team of motivated, highly proficient administrators who act in accordance with the firm's values and in parallel to the law firm service levels
• Ensure you have an understanding of the transactions you're working on, provide technical support and training to team members as and when required
• Ensure client expectations are properly managed and valuable relationships are nurtured so as to maximise the reputation of the team in the market place and the potential for repeat work and referrals
• Assist with the effective management of the day to day activities of the team to include timely processing of work, meeting transactional and internal procedural deadlines, recording time (if applicable and managing WIP and debt collection
• Ensure consistent high quality service levels are adhered to across your portfolio of clients and deal swiftly with any identified issues
• Be familiar and act at all times in accordance with the firm's policies and procedures

• Collaborate with the firm's Risk and Compliance team, ensuring all client due diligence is processed accurately and client reviews are up to date and keeping abreast of all relevant regulatory changes and industry standards
• Assist with the ongoing quality control of data input and maintenance within the corporate services practice management database
• Provide assistance with annual reviews of client entities
• Assist with the monthly/quarterly billing process and monitoring of outstanding fees
About you – essential requirements
• Proven corporate administration experience
• You'll hold a relevant professional qualification (such as STEP or CGI)
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft desktop software
• Knowledge of specialist software e.g. Document Management Systems and Viewpoint would be an advantage
• Having good communication and interpersonal skills
• Being able to build relationships and work as part of a team
• A positive and flexible approach
• Ability to manage and prioritise tasks, time and people in order to meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently

About the role
• To act as the registered Compliance Officer (CO) for Mourant Governance Services (Jersey) Limited and its subsidiaries (collectively MGSJL), which hold both trust and company business and fund services business licences.
• To act as the Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer (DMLRO) for the Jersey law firm and MGSJL.
• Hold the CO role for MGSJL, overseeing trust and AMLSP activities. Responsibilities include NBC attendance, quarterly board reporting with the MLRO, and data-driven analysis of controls, policies, incidents, and training. These responsibilities will transition over the first year, subject to board and regulatory approval.
• Own and maintain the MGSJL Business Risk Assessment and Risk Register, collaborating with the business and R&C, and supporting the Jersey Head of Compliance with the law firm’s BRA and reporting.
• Support the Jersey Head of Compliance with Mourant’s UK law firm and TCSP- licensed company services business, providing advisory support on client and compliance risk (note: Mourant does not practise English or Scottish law).
• Act as DMLRO for MGSJL and the Jersey law firm, managing suspicious activity reporting (subject to relevant approvals).
• Collaborate across MourantGS on cross-business R&C initiatives, ensuring alignment and sharing of best practices.
• Support high-risk client reviews, working with the Global Client Take-On teams and advising on risk appetite and policy compliance.
• Deliver key compliance and risk duties in line with regulatory obligations and Mourant’s policies, covering AML, financial services, data protection, confidentiality, and Law Society rules.

• Lead core compliance activities including monitoring plans, periodic reviews, training, daily AML screening escalations, regulatory reporting, and policy oversight.
• Contribute to regulatory horizon scanning, analysing changes in law and regulation, drafting gap analysis papers for the boards, and working with key stakeholders to ensure a strong risk culture.
About you
• Significant experience in compliance, risk, or operational control within a regulated corporate or fund services business.
• Experience presenting at board level, delivering training, and working within other Jersey licensed businesses is advantageous.
• In-depth understanding of anti-financial crime and conduct/prudential regulations across law firms, fiduciary, and/or fund services. Knowledge of multiple jurisdictions (e.g. Guernsey, UK, BVI, Cayman) is beneficial.
• Prior experience in CO, MLRO or deputy roles is preferred, along with experience managing and developing team members.
• Confident in conducting regulatory horizon scanning and interpreting developments relevant to Jersey and broader jurisdictions.
• Skilled at using data to inform reporting and continuous improvement.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a pragmatic, risk-based mindset and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• A proactive team player who can lead people and projects effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with the ability to quickly learn various client systems and reporting tools.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, able to work autonomously and manage large volumes of information.

Paralegal We are seeking a talented Paralegal to join Mourant's General Counsel Team.
In this role, you will be supporting the delivery of best in class legal services across the non- regulated entities within the Mourant group. Including, assisting on all elements of onboarding Mourant's third-party suppliers, contract review from a legal and regulatory perspective, Non-Disclosure Agreements and Data Protection Agreements, due diligence checks etc.

About the role
• Assisting on projects led by Head of Legal and Senior Legal Counsel to develop protocols and use of technology for client engagement letters, panel terms and third-party supplier contracts
• Assisting with servicing queries in the GC team, under the direction of the Head of Legal and Senior Legal Counsel
• Completing risk and governance questionnaires and other due diligence documentation requested by Mourant's suppliers, intermediaries and clients
• Assist with maintaining internal precedent banks for preferred legal contractual clauses and third-party stakeholder governance precedent bank
• Reviewing and maintaining database of panel and special terms with clients and maintaining internal supplier contract register
• Liaising with the Data Protection Officer to review data processing agreements and other ad hoc data protection queries and maintaining Mourant's public legal and regulatory notices and disclaimers on the public website
• Assisting the Risk & Compliance team to ensure that Mourant meets the requirements of the relevant bar counsel or law society in each of its locations
About you
We are looking for a candidate with experience in a similar role in a legal environment and holding a relevant legal qualification Relevant paralegal experience (or similar) gained within a law firm or in-house department would be advantageous.
