JOB PURPOSE To support the implementation of a sustainable business risk management and quality assurance capability across Standard Bank Offshore business units by executing and monitoring a risk-based combined assurance plan and related activities to enable a culture of quality, control and transparent risk ownership.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Essential Functions
Support the team in conducting investigations, data gathering, analysis and in-depth reporting on key risks and issues across all Standard Bank Offshore business areas in order to identify root cause and ensure remedial actions are established to mitigate risks. Escalate all high-risk, and significant issues to the line manager to ensure these matters are dealt with timeously and as per the standards set out it in the relevant functional framework. Identify, measure, prioritise and respond to all types of risk in the business, and support the team in managing any exposure accordingly. Support the maintainance and updating of specific risk related procedures and processes in line with governance and regulatory requirements and create an awareness of these policies across the Offshore business to promote adherence. Participate in relevant training for the requirements of the role, including legislative and regulatory amendments and any changes to the relevant functional framework, to ensure all analyses is aligned accordingly. Contribute to the provision, input and support to the manager and team to ensure high quality reporting and assurance to the relevant Boards, Executive Management, Audit Committees, the Regulator and other relevant forums. Support the team in gathering all sufficient and appropriate information from all available sources to ensure thorough analytics can be conducted in order to enable effective and proactive risk-based decision making. Capture the findings and conclusions in the required reporting format and systems and prepare and submit outcomes as prescribed by relevant policies and procedures. Perform various adminstrative tasks, as and when required, including but not limited to account opening, statistic date updates, client information management and legislation practises ensuring these are completed according to the required standards and processes as well as any legislative requirements. Remain proficient and knowledgeable of best practice and future developments in the specialist field of Business Risk Management in order to provide proactive recommendations to the team on risk control enhancements. Continuously maintain an understanding of all policies, processes, procedures and systems and review said to ensure all analyses is aligned accordingly.
