Job Description

Our client is seeking a MLRO to report to the Head of Risk & Compliance / Board in the Private Wealth department.

The main duties of the role are:

  • Receive and consider internal suspicious activity reports (ISARs) in accordance with the requirements of the Money Laundering (Jersey) Order 2008 and internal reporting requirements and make such disclosures to the Joint Financial Crimes Unit (JFCU) as are appropriate
  • Provide training to the relevant employees and, if applicable, to the Deputy MLRO’s around the handling, management and evaluation of internal SARs
  • Managing inquiries made by the JFCU, receipt of production orders or TIEA requests
  • Maintaining a record of all requests for information from law enforcement authorities and records relating to all internal and external SARs
  • Managing relationships effectively post disclosure to the JFCU to avoid tipping off any external parties

You will have the below experience and expertise:

  • Good knowledge and experience of offshore financial services and underlying product and service rationales, technologies and regulatory environments
  • Membership of relevant Financial Institute
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Extensive experience within a compliance and / or risk environment
  • Awareness and understanding of cross jurisdictional cultural differences
  • Corporate Governance experience and an understanding and experience of risk mitigation
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
