The Head of Finance Business Partnering will lead the creation, development and implementation of a new strategic and leadership capability that will act as “ambassadors” for finance across all departments of States of Jersey.
The role will oversee a customer-focused Finance Business Partnering function that develops strong working relationships with all departments and other corporate functions to put Finance at the heart of departmental decision-making. Working alongside every Director General as part of their departmental leadership team, this new capability will provide valued financial insight, strategic support and challenge to all departments and drive the local financial and performance plan. They will act as the link between strategic finance and the business.
This role will be central to maintaining and developing a culture of accountability, value for money, underlining the importance of long-term business planning and financial sustainability. The role will drive the costing of policies, help departments with their understanding of planned outcomes, and ensure the financial aspects of long-term strategic plans are delivered effectively.
The ideal candidate will have project and complex capital expenditure experience. You must be able to deliver on high value projects and execute the financing strategy. The ability to build relationships with both Ministers and colleagues is essential along with strong leadership and communication skills.
