Business Development & Marketing Manager
Purpose of the job
The Business Development & Marketing Manager role has been established to work closely with our Partners supporting them and their teams on delivering their business plans through a range of domestic and international BD activities both in-person and online.
The postholder will work with teams across our different offices, jurisdictions and time zones, identifying opportunities and developing plans to drive growth. They will build strong relationships within the practice groups, developing a clear understanding of Bedell Cristin's key markets and grow a strong personal brand within the business globally. They will have excellent communication skills, with previous experience within an onshore or offshore law environment. The postholder will have to undertake some business-related travel.
The role reports into the Head of BD, Marketing and Communication and sits within the wider BD and Marketing team that looks after: Client Development, Practice Group BD, CRM, Brand and Online Marketing and Communications and PR globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Working closely with Partners and Fee Earners to develop the strategy, budgets and market plans.
- Understanding the changing dynamics of the markets in which we operate and identifying opportunities across the relevant jurisdictions and regions.
- Supporting the international promotion of our brand's ethos and core values
- Leading internal monthly and quarterly business development update meetings
- Supporting, managing and monitoring legal practice groups in achieving their goals and tracking progress against agreed strategic objectives.

Qualifications
- Educated to A level or equivalent

Principal duties

Finance Administrator

The Finance Team plays a key role in supporting the various Bedell Cristin Partnerships as well as working closely with the other support functions.
More about the role
The purpose of the role is to support our day-to-day transactions including, but not limited to, accounts payable, preparation of invoices, reconciliations and other tasks undertaken by the Finance team.
A typical day in this role will be:
- Uploading and carrying out reconciliation of bank statements to the practice management system
- Dealing with a range of tasks/enquiries from the Finance helpdesk
- Processing of supplier invoices and staff expenses on to the practice management system and preparing BACS payment
- Enter electronic payments for authorisation on our online banking portals
- Preparing cheques for signature and distribution
- Preparing invoices and dealing with billing queries from partners and timekeepers
- Posting and maintaining of records in our main practice management system
- Assisting Bedell Cristin staff with billing runs, including raising invoices and proformas
- Running WIP and debtor reports and any other breakdowns for staff as necessary
- Posting of corporate credit card transactions and reconciliation to statements and receipts
- Assisting the Property Team's weekly considerations in relation to property transactions
- Provide absence cover for other members of the Finance Team
- Ad hoc project work as required to support the department/group
- Ensuring finance procedures are followed and updated when required
- Some department filing, scanning, deliveries and the collection of internal documents
More about you

Qualifications
Educated to at least A-Level standard or equivalent, with good academic grades in English and Maths.
Knowledge/skills/experience
