About us
We supervise the island's financial services businesses - including financial institutions, designated non-financial businesses and professions and virtual asset service providers for anti-money laundering (AML), countering of the financing of terrorism (CFT) and countering proliferation financing (CPF) purposes. - We also regulate financial services for conduct and prudential purposes. The JFSC is one of the few regulators globally to benefit from the regulator and entity registries operating under a single financial services commission.
Division: Technology and Data
The division supports the commission in operating as a highly effective regulator by providing the necessary data, information, collaboration tools and infrastructure technologies that support high levels of productivity, industry engagement and operational efficiency. Our activities underpin the commission’s strategic goal of harnessing technology and influencing the digitalisation of financial services in Jersey.
Team: System and Data
The Systems and Data team is responsible for targeting and exploiting synergies between the JFSC’s data, systems, regulated entities, and Registry customers to empower Jersey’s financial industry. By providing our staff and customers with business-enabling data and systems that are easy to access, compliance will be easier for industry to achieve, and effectiveness will be easier for the JFSC to demonstrate - enhancing business integrity and supporting the JFSC in fulfilling its primary purpose.
Role: System Developer (Permanent/Full-time)
The successful candidate will join the JFSC at a key stage in its development, as it seeks to play an enhanced role in the continued success of Jersey as a highly regarded International Financial Centre. The candidate will deliver the following outcomes:
• Streamlined and user-friendly web portal features developed, enabling seamless online application
submissions by entities, thereby enhancing efficiency and accessibility by utilising C#.NET and CMS
(React) to develop web portal features for JFSC projects and facilitating form submissions.
• Successful onboarding of new entities to the Registry API interface, fostering increased engagement
and utilization of API facilities.
Systems Developer - ICT
• Prompt resolution of authentication challenges faced by internal and external users, ensuring
uninterrupted access for users and maintaining system security.
• Improved website functionality and enhanced performance achieved through effective collaboration
with the web supplier, resulting in a more engaging user experience.
• Timely and effective support provided for all designated responsibilities and contributing to the
overall efficiency and effectiveness of JFSC core systems.
You will add value to the organisation by:
Building new functionality to enhance efficiency for both internal and external users. Providing support to individuals, resolving issues (including complex ones), and assisting teams with projects and system configurations. Overseeing website improvements and taking ownership of interface management for a core system. What will success in this role look like?

You will develop a range of technical and interpersonal skills which will lead to potential career opportunities and specialisms as well as a good general understanding of finance and regulation.
Are you suitable for this role?
The ideal candidate should have basic development experience. Knowledge of C#.net and CMS (ideally React), as well as API and Authentication is essential for the role whilst Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Dynamics, Power, Web project experience is advantageous. This role will suit anyone with a technical development foundation who wants to hone and develop their technical skills. If you enjoy work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues, this will suit you.
