JOB DESCRIPTION
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Senior Accountant will oversee the financial reporting processes across the Sandpiper Group of companies. Key responsibilities include:
• Preparing accurate and timely group consolidation reports.
• Managing the preparation of quarterly VAT and GST returns.
• Reviewing and ensuring compliance with annual tax returns for the Group.
• Compiling consolidated and individual company financial statements.
• Coordinating and overseeing the external annual audit processes.
• Preparing periodical and annual financial reports for the Shared Services, provision for bad debt functions within Sandpiper.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Group Financial Reporting
• Lead the preparation of monthly and annual consolidated financial statements for the Group, ensuring adherence to FRS 102 or other relevant accounting standards.
• Prepare statutory financial statements for all Sandpiper legal entities.
• Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting to senior leadership.
• Consolidate financial data across multiple business units and subsidiaries, including management of intercompany eliminations and adjustments.
• Reconcile all related accounts as assigned in the general ledger each period.
• Manage the annual budgeting and forecasting process for all Shared Services cost lines.
Compliance & Accounting Standards:
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and financial regulations (e.g., IFRS, FRS 102), ensuring full compliance across all reporting processes.
• Support the Head of Financial Control in overseeing the balance sheet reconciliation process, identifying financial risks and opportunities.
• Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit, ensuring timely provision of supporting documentation and clear explanations as required.
Management Reporting and Analysis:
• Provide detailed financial analysis and insights to senior management, identifying key trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare high-quality management reports and board-level presentations, highlighting critical financial metrics and performance indicators.
Tax Reporting and Compliance:
• Ensure the accurate and timely submission of quarterly GST returns (Jersey) and VAT returns (Isle of Man).
• Review of externally prepared individual company tax returns.

Team Leadership & Development:
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the wider finance team.
Financial Planning
• Input and assistance in preparation of forecast model and actualization for the group
• Budget Epicor Data Analytics co-owner for the group
• Support group consolidation of budget of the group
Ad-Hoc Projects:
• Participate in special projects such as system upgrades, mergers, acquisitions, and corporate restructuring, ensuring accurate integration of financial data.
• Support the Head of Financial Control & Reporting in meeting ad hoc requests from the Chief Financial Officer, Finance Director or other senior members of the business or as required within the team.
• Collaborate with other finance functions and business units to support strategic initiatives and business decisions.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Qualified or part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or similar) or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience in group financial reporting or similar roles.
• Experience with group consolidation exercises
• Strong knowledge of FRS 102 and relevant account frameworks.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Detail orientated with excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive and results orientated with the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
